FAQs

Questions:

Why do I need a Personal Trainer?

Personal Trainers can maximise the efficiency of your training sessions, to ensure that your goals are S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time). They keep you motivated to ensure that your workouts are always enjoyable and inspirational, so that the exercises you perform are progressive and developmental, but only to a level that is right for you during the training. This means that you do not waste time doing exercises that are not beneficial to you. You will be shown how to do exercises correctly, so you do not exert yourself too much and avoid injury.

There will always be someone that can provide a different insight and useful advice to improve your fitness and enhance your performance. Body Professionals’ enhanced understanding and knowledge of fitness and training will enable us to provide the support and guidance to give you an edge in your sport.

How long before I start to see results?

There is no definitive answer, as everyone is an individual and people progress at different rates. Feedback from clients tells us they have found improvements in their energy levels, sleep patterns, fitness, or body shape within a few weeks.

Every individual’s developments and improvements are down to their own commitment and how often they train. Your commitment and focus on your training is the mainstay of your training and development. You will feel better and see improvements within two weeks, and achieve lasting fitness improvements within five weeks.

What sort of results can I expect from the training?

With dedication and our help you can expect to get into the best shape of your life, feeling healthier, energised, stronger and more confident. You will become more relaxed and feel you are sleeping better. How quickly all of this is achieved and becomes apparent is down to each individual. It depends on how focused, motivated, and committed they are and their goal orientation. For example; some want to have bigger muscles, some want to lose weight, some want to look toned, or to reduce their body fat so that they can show off that six pack, some are recovering from injury, or some just want to feel healthier and more energetic.

Can I have a one-off Personal Training session, or one Personal Training session a month to improve my training or to get a new training programme?

Body Professionals enables their clients the freedom of training. Monthly Personal Training sessions are subject to an agreement with the Personal Trainer and the individual client. These training sessions are mainly reserved for individuals who have a high knowledge and understanding of fitness and training. If the Personal Trainer does not believe that you are of a sufficient training standard, they will advise you about a more suitable training structure, e.g. Training with a Personal Trainer once every week or once every two weeks.

If you are someone who just wants some advice or further guidance with your training, or coaching on how to perform certain training techniques, then this service is available at the price of a single session.

How long does a training session last?

In order to provide best results a training session normally runs for one hour, however if the client prefers, shorter 30 minutes sessions are available. You should always turn up on time for your training session and be ready to train at the agreed time in order to maximise your training session. Being late for a session reduces your training time.

What should I wear to train in and do I need to bring anything?

You should wear suitable training attire, supported trainers, shorts or tight jog pants, weight lifting gloves if needed. If anything else is needed you will be advised by your Personal Trainer before your training session.

Bring any medication if needed, e.g. Inhalers, Insulin injections, etc., and tell your Personal Trainer about any health problems.

What does the fitness assessment session consist of?

This is both a fitness assessment and health check, consisting of specific non invasive functional tests, enabling the Personal Trainer to piece together a detailed understanding of your current fitness level and health circumstances.

There are some straightforward movements which the client will be asked to perform, enabling the Personal Trainer to assess the movement, flexibility and the individual’s postural structure.

What if I feel unwell before a training session?

Always ring or get in contact with your Personal Trainer and check, discuss the problems. Don’t leave it to the last minute to tell your Personal Trainer. The general rule for training is safety first, so if you feel unwell let your Personal Trainer know.

All the measures that have been put in place have been done so in accordance with government and UKActive guidelines and recommendations. These measures extend to all areas of the gyms, not just the gym floor, but also take into account the entrance pods, changing rooms, breakroom and any other back of house areas. These measures also include home based personal training sessions.

Please see control measures outlined below:

  • No sessions to be delivered if either the client and/or Personal Trainer are showing any symptoms, or if they have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 7 days or a member of their household has tested positive within 14 days.
  • You must contact your Personal Trainer directly via phone call, text message, or email if you have any symptoms, or you or any family member have tested positive to COVID-19. And do not turn up to the training facilities, or hold a home based training session at the agreed training location.
  • Clients and Personal Trainers must wash or sanitise hands regularly and between every session.
  • Clients must clean down kit before and after use, to reduce the risks of contamination and the Personal Trainer touching equipment and areas that you are using.
  • Wipe down any equipment that you touch during the personal training session before putting it away.
  • Keep your safe distance following the government’s latest guidelines to ensure safety measures.
  • Verbal instructions of technique only to ensure social distancing, or your Personal Trainer will demonstrate the exercise on another piece of clean training equipment.
  • You will be required to wear a mask or face covering during your Personal Training sessions, to reduce down saliva and bodily fluids being ejected during working out.

Other diseases and Illnesses.

If at any point your medical health changes or you contract a disease or illness you must ensure that you contact your Personal Trainer directly via phone, text message, or email to inform them of your circumstances. Please do not turn up to a training session or visit your Personal Trainer before discussing the situation. Furthermore please do not leave it to the last minute before any appointment or training session to tell your Personal Trainer.
